I want to be able to contribute to a project involving low-level C programming. The sprawling Linux community as a whole offers a wealth of possible projects including kernel development at the super low end. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make any meaningful contributions, but experience with some project like this is cool. Technologies I'd use seem like they'd be dev environment tools like a nice IDE or tools in the shell like the GNU toolset or similar. Overall my goal would be to have some sort of contribution pulled into the project on top of the learning experience along the way.
