Hello, this is the UCLA IMLS Open Science GitHub. Our goal is to develop and create 14 Open Science Lessons for librarians to use and learn from. These lessons seek to support continued skills development for librarians in open science to effectively provide instruction to new researchers and collaborate with faculty and researchers in science projects using open science practices. In here, you will find these Open Science Lessons in and out of development using the Carpentries Workbench.

In addition to the lessons above, the following resources were produced to support curriculum development, evaluation, and training:

• UCLA-IMLS Open Science Librarians Evaluation Criteria_2024.docx: Final proposal evaluation rubric used by the review committee.
• Lesson_Dev_Checkilst.md: Checklist used by authors to review lesson readiness for Carpentries Workbench.
• Lesson Design Notes Template.pdf and Python Intro Example: Scaffolding templates used in seminar sessions.
• Collaborative Multilingual Search and Discovery Systems (PDF): Completed lesson draft submitted in lieu of Workbench transfer.
• submission_template.pdf: Template used for both rounds of lesson proposal submissions.
