2. PR title

Your PR title must follow conventional commits (as we are doing squash merge for each PR), so it must start with one of the following types:

  • feat: A new feature

3. Deployment tag versioning

Has the version in params/version.go been updated?

  • This PR doesn't involve a new deployment, git tag, docker image tag, and it doesn't affect traces
  • Yes

4. Breaking change label

Does this PR have the breaking-change label?

  • This PR is not a breaking change
  • Yes

Walkthrough

This update introduces the Feynman hard fork logic across the codebase. It adds detection for the Feynman transition block, applies new state changes and contract bytecode for the L1GasPriceOracle, updates storage slot constants, and increments the patch version. Several functions and method signatures are updated to accommodate the new fork handling.

Changes

File(s) Change Summary
cmd/evm/internal/t8ntool/execution.go, core/state_processor.go, core/chain_makers.go Add conditional logic to detect and apply Feynman hard fork state changes during block/state processing.
consensus/misc/feynman.go Add ApplyFeynmanHardFork function to modify state for the Feynman fork, updating L1GasPriceOracle bytecode and storage.
miner/scroll_worker.go Update method signatures to pass parent block, add Feynman fork application in handleForks.
eth/api.go Ensure Feynman-specific storage slot is always included in execution witness for prover compatibility.
params/config.go Add IsFeynmanTransitionBlock method to identify the Feynman fork transition block.
params/version.go Increment patch version from 57 to 58.
rollup/rcfg/config.go Add and document new storage slot constants, initial values, and bytecode for L1GasPriceOracle for Curie and Feynman forks.

Poem

A hop, a skip, a Feynman leap,
New forks and slots for state to keep.
The Oracle learns some brand new tricks,
With bytecode swaps and storage picks.
Patch fifty-eight, the chain’s delight—
Rabbits code through day and night! 🐇✨
