"Cannot extract bundle symbolicName or version" bazel-vscode-java/server/org.jsr-305.jar ZipException: zip END header not found

I'm trying to run this extension locally.
I have also cloned the Bazel-eclipse repo and ran ./mvnw clean verify(Build Successful) within Bazel-eclipse repo.
Then run "npm run build"(Build Success) from bazel-vscode-java repo.
I'm using Jdk21. Bazel 7.4.1.
temurin-21.jdk (I have tried openJdk21. But it will throw "lib/jrt-fs.jar not exist".)

But I got plenty of this error when I tried to debug the bazel-vscode-java extension in Vscode.

I have tried to unzip the jar files in the /server folder. But got following errors.

  (attempting to process anyway)

  (please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the
  appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly)

I also tried to open "vim .mvn/wrapper/maven-wrapper.jar" from Bazel-eclipse.
This result looks much cleaner

I have spent quite a lot of time on this. But still cannot get these jar files working properly.

Hmm, the zip issue could be serious and needs investigation. The other one also indicates that something is wrong with the file content. Are you sure downloads are ok?

Can you provide list of steps you did?

FWIW, I usually developer the LS within Eclipse itself and then publish a build to consume. But it should be possible to also launch it from within Eclipse and then have VS Code connect to it (useful for debugging).

2 From bazel-vscode-java,
npm run build

3 Open Bazel-vscode-java in Vscode, debug extension,
Then got the Zip issue.

Do you mean these downloads?

Here are the Java/Bazel versions I'm using.

I have installed gtar as well.

But it should be possible to also launch it from within Eclipse and then have VS Code connect to it (useful for debugging).
How does that connection work?

Import project > set active target platform > Import IntelliJ Aspects
Then try to run/Debug configurations, and got quite a lot of errors:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: /Users/anqihuang/code/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.pde.core/Bazel Eclipse/**org.eclipse.osgi/400/0/.cp/intro/overview.xml** (No such file or directory)
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "org.eclipse.ui.internal.intro.impl.model.IntroPartPresentation.setFocus()" because "this.presentation" is null
!MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: "org.eclipse.ui.workbench".

Interesting that
When I vim com.github.ben-manes.caffeine_3.1.8.jar from /bazel-eclipse/releng/p2repository/target/repository/plugins.
It looks good.

And the unzip looks fine too.

But vim com.github.ben-manes.caffeine.jar from /bazel-vscode-java/server. It shows messy character.

gulpfile only drops the version from these jar file names...

Then I directly did cp ../bazel-eclipse/releng/p2repository/target/repository/plugins/*.jar /server from bazel-vscode-java repo.
The jar files look good.

Looks like something wrong with the gulp.
So I commented out the extra steps. Only do the copy paste step. This will still break the jar files.

Solved the jar issue by adding { encoding : false}

But still curious how to
