LM Studio is a popular way to run LLMs locally. It supports Cursor's mcp.json notation since v0.3.17. LM Studio's mcp.json is located at ~/.cache/lm-studio/mcp.json on macOS and %USERPROFILE%/.lmstudio/mcp.json on Windows. It should be located ~/.lmstudio/mcp.json on Linux per the documentation, but note that its stated location for macOS is incorrect.
