Hi everyone,

I'm a student who was recently approved for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. I'm excited about using all the benefits, especially the free GitHub Copilot Pro subscription.

However, after checking my account settings, my Copilot dashboard still shows that I'm on the "free" plan with limited completions and chat messages. It prompts me to upgrade to a paid subscription and doesn't seem to recognize my student eligibility.

I've already tried a few common troubleshooting steps:

I've confirmed that my Student Developer Pack is active on my GitHub Education page.

I've logged out and logged back in, cleared my cache, and even tried a different browser.

I've checked my "Your Copilot" settings page, but the Pro benefits are not visible there.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a specific link I need to use to manually activate the Pro plan, or is there a typical delay before it becomes active?

Any guidance on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! This is a common issue some students run into after getting approved for the GitHub Student Developer Pack.

Even though the Student Pack includes free Copilot Pro for 1 year, it doesn't always apply automatically — sometimes it takes manual activation.

Here's what you can do to fix it:

1. Go to this direct Copilot Pro student redemption link:

2. If it still doesn’t work, try this:

   • Make sure you're logged in to the same account that was approved for the Student Pack.
   • Clear your browser cache (or try Incognito mode).

3. If Copilot still shows as "Free", you may need to revoke and re-enable Copilot:

   • Go to: https://github.com/settings/copilot
   • Click "Stop using Copilot", then re-enable it again and check if it shows Pro.

4. If none of the above works, you should contact GitHub Education Support directly:

They’re very helpful and will make sure your Pro benefits are correctly applied.

Once approved, you can claim your Copilot PRO offer on this signup link.

To redeem others benefits, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select any offer that suits you.

In case you encounter a problem claiming any offer, I recommend you raise a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.
