Fresh install has 1 zillion tiny files

Well, more than 66K in ~/.nvm folder. Command cd ~/.nvm && git gc --agressive should be added to install script in order to reduce it to 3,663.

Such amount of small files slows down disk search/backups/copy/etc.

I'm not familiar with the project but it might require just 1 line in install_nvm_from_git function just right before the return. Something like

Agreed - provided that git gc --aggressive works down to v1.5.5 :-)
