Dealing with the two versions of undici

Hi everyone!

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of compatibility between undici the external package and undici (fetch) present in the node globals.

In light of Node 24 including undici 7 it got me thinking about using undici 7 features. Quickly I realized (correct me if I'm wrong) that importing features like Agent or interceptors require you to also explicitly install undici as a package. This brings up some questions:

1. Are we ending up with basically two of the same package?
2. How are we supposed to keep them in compatible versions? e.g: Undici 8 launches with MegaSpeedBoster feature, do I have to wait until the node version matches to be able to use it?
3. What is the rationale behind not exposing these undici features directly in node?

Undici, until now, has been integrated to power the fetch implementation within Node.

If seeking to use the most update technologies of Undici, the best is always to rely on external installation

This phrase helps me manage my expectations.
I always saw it as "fetch is undici" and not as "undici powers fetch".
