Follow-up tasks for CR bump to (upcoming) v0.15.0

This issue contains some follow-up tasks which should be done after we bumped to the (upcoming) CR v0.15.0 release

Prereqs:

• Wait for v0.15 + bump Cluster API

Tasks:

• Assess if we have to change something after:
  • pkg/webhook/admission: use Result.Message instead of Result.Reason
• CR changes we might want to use:
  • Webhook warnings
    • We can use the current issue to collect use cases:
      • External variable discovery #7985 (comment)
