[android] No Firebase app '[DEFAULT]' has been created - call firebase.initializeApp(), js engine: hermes #2701

@francisleigh

Description

@francisleigh

most setup issues such as default app has not been initialized etc are all down to an incorrect setup as the guides haven't been correctly followed.
^ I am pretty certain i've gone through the correct setup.

Issue

During my upgrade migration to RN 0.61.2 from 0.59.10 i had to upgrade a few dependancies - RNFB being one of them.

IOS is building fine.

Android builds fine but then i am greeted with an error.
Screenshot_1570540809

I have one file that calls/uses firebase.

Analytics.js

import analytics from "@react-native-firebase/analytics";
const FirebaseAnalytics = analytics();

const FirebaseAnalytics = analytics(); is what triggers my error.

android/settings.gradle

include ':@react-native-firebase_messaging'
project(':@react-native-firebase_messaging').projectDir = new File(rootProject.projectDir, '../node_modules/@react-native-firebase/messaging/android')
include ':@react-native-firebase_in-app-messaging'
project(':@react-native-firebase_in-app-messaging').projectDir = new File(rootProject.projectDir, '../node_modules/@react-native-firebase/in-app-messaging/android')
include ':@react-native-firebase_analytics'
project(':@react-native-firebase_analytics').projectDir = new File(rootProject.projectDir, '../node_modules/@react-native-firebase/analytics/android')
include ':@react-native-firebase_app'
project(':@react-native-firebase_app').projectDir = new File(rootProject.projectDir, '../node_modules/@react-native-firebase/app/android')

include ':app'

android/app/build.gradle

...
dependencies {
    implementation project(':@react-native-firebase_messaging')
    implementation project(':@react-native-firebase_in-app-messaging')
    implementation project(':@react-native-firebase_analytics')
    implementation project(':@react-native-firebase_app')
    ...
}
...

I tried adding

implementation "com.google.firebase:firebase-analytics:17.2.0"
implementation "com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging:20.0.0"
implementation "com.google.firebase:firebase-inappmessaging:19.0.1"

to the dependancies Object but no-dice.
