I'm debating whether this is intended behaviour or not... the error us coming from the tools implementation itself:

@pavelgj Ah yeah, I see. I'd vote to either fix this is a a DevUI thing or modify the sample, it's a bit of a bummer of a user experience that we show you this cool tool runner and it doesn't work

This is an interesting case. From a Dev UI standpoint, it does seem to be WAI. This particular tool simply does not function in isolation. Even if it didn't fail, it would still require session context, which I am not sure the tool runner would be able to provide.

I don't think we can address this as a Dev UI fix as a P0 in a short time frame.

Maybe this is a good summit topic for next week (how to incorporate sessions into the Dev UI).

Hey, I just ran into the same thing in my project and was confused. Sometimes tools don't require much session context, and it would be great to be able to test them in the ui.
