If NuFi wallet were to disappear, a user could restore their accounts into another non-custodial wallet using the recovery phrase that they write down during wallet setup; this backs up all accounts and assets. Hardware wallets users could restore their accounts in another non-custodial wallet by re-pairing their device.
Please describe the measures taken to ensure the wallet's security and provide documentation wherever possible
- NuFi is a non-custodial wallet, so we don't hold any keys in our backend
- Client side sensitive data (i.e. hot wallet keys/seed) are encrypted at rest with user's password
- Our CI pipeline includes automated detection of vulnerabilities in the libraries we use, so that we update them ASAP
- Internal reviews/documentation of critical parts of the app architecture
- We support hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor, Gridplus, BitBox02, plus Keystone coming in Q1) and we encourage their use
Has the wallet's smart contract code or security modules been audited?
No
Does the wallet have an internal security team?
Our internal security team is led by senior developers, and as a team we employ thorough code/architecture reviews, as well as automated tools to detect known vulnerabilities.
