Can you include the rest of the C# logs prior to the error? That component should be acquired on startup. Additionally, could you open the extension folder (command workbench.extensions.action.openExtensionsFolder) and check if the .roslynCopilot folder exists inside the C# 2.87.26 version and contains a dll?

We have merged it to both main and prerelease branches. It should be part of the next release on Aug 6th and prerelease on Aug 7th.

Until we can ship a new prerelease/release (dates as mentioned above), you can either

1. Downgrade to the release version of the extension
2. Copy the .roslynCopilot folder from the working VSIX I linked above into your actual prerelease extension install folder(e.g. C:\Users\dabarbet\.vscode\extensions\ms-dotnettools.csharp-2.87.26-win32-x64)
