What’s easiest way to only preprocess liquid?

I’d like to first process all the liquid templating in markdown files, verify that, then covert to html. What’s the easiest way to go about this?

I’ve figured out a couple of approaches by using “build”:

• Change extension to something other than “md” and add to template_extensions in _cobalt.yml
• Force format: Raw in frontmatter

Any chance there’s an easier way that doesn’t require me to touch everything?
