The wizard is shown, I can choose f.e. my arduino nano,
I can add it to git and than this window is promted:

No valid settings file could be found.
All settings files found in directory "/home/jack/Workbench/arduino3/arduino3.pro.user" were unsuitable for the current version of Qt Creator, for instance because they were written by an incompatible version of Qt Creator, or because a different settings path was used.

Afterwards, just the pro file appears. The paths were all correct.
Maybe not working anymore? I will compare the xml template file with some others tomorrow.

@max11gen Sadly not, guess it needs a rewrite but hadn't had the time to provide some code for it. Will let you know when it does (if you are not faster :) )

I managed to get it working, the main thing you need to get it working is the makefile, if you can use "make upload" via terminal, then you should be good to go. You can still use this wizard just configure it with your desktop kit, go to project settings, remove all build and clean commands then set a new custom process that is "make upload" and "make clean"
I have played a bit with shadow build folder then you dont need to specify working directory but found it more reliable not using shadow build and setting working directory to %{sourceDir}

see attached image for build and run settings i have currently. I have it working but still working out some import parts to allow qt creator to make the most of auto complete and what it does best.
It seems if the project.pro.user file is for a different kit than what you have on your system you have to re do the setup mentioned above, i have modified all the wizard files for my setup
Would be good if someone knows how to have a wizard pick a default desktop kit or something so that its not fixed to a specific kit.

Still getting my head around how github works but will see if i can add or upload what i have done, can i upload a new project under my name based on this, or best to create a fork?

Sorry for the long comment, but I hope this helps someone as this is awesome work and would be great to get it all running again without having to modify the wizard
