These extra helpers should probably be standardized so that each appium library is consistent. For example only Ruby and Java have that iOS textfield fix. |

Well, at a certain point the clients diverge because the languages are different, and have different styles/communities. |

That's true. Having random extra methods on some clients and not others is entirely preventable though. |

How about adding this helper method? I find I have to calculate the center often when performing touch actions.
