I don't have hardware to test, but it looks like we've had the author and another person confirm the changed baude rate, and it does match the circuitpython code.
My best guess is maybe some older raspberry pi's had a lower limitation for some reason, but I am not certain.

Used an FTDI cable, and the example baud rate was incorrect and it was very confusing to diagnose. This is a fix to reduce that confusion for people in the future.
