Soooo … how can I disable the app after accidentally locking myself out?

I apparently wasn't seeing straight (or the app preselected some weird block duration) and have now disabled a bunch of things on my laptop for 20 hours. I would prefer to have control of my machine again. commenting the rules from /etc/hosts does not seem to do the trick on its own.
Strangely, I have regained access to youtube, but not any of the other blocked sites.

Any "expert user" tips to unblock myself?

Answer: One has to disable pf rules as well. E.g. by completely disabling packet filtering with sudo pfctl -d, but I don't know what else this does.
