IRC Chat room for the project

It would be nice to have a chat room on IRC or Mattermost instance (like Framateam)

Interesting idea. You could add a badge to the readme file to make it easier finding the channel. For example:

I highly suggest using one service and sticking to it, or people will get lost very quickly (Is freenode still the most common service?).

I think IRC is relevant to people using RSS-Bridge, because IRC is quite common among open-source community and is quite simple.
We could use Gitter, Slack etc. but some won't, claiming that's closed source services...

freenode is fine by me. With the samples provided by @em92 and according to my own search skills, it is still the most used network on this planet, at least for open source projects. Time to install hexchat I guess 👀

For reference you can use HexChat as mentioned by @logmanoriginal or Irssi which is command-line based. In my case, I use both (HexChat as user interface connecting to Irssi running on my server).

Lets resurrect the idea of IRC chat room. Right now there 2 people there. Me and Roliga. I will promote this this issue by pinning it. When the chat gets more active, I will add badge to readme.

oops it should work now, I just regain access to it, and for some reason it put it to invite only... as soon as you join, I'll give you op acces ;)

Trying to send a message in IRC channel. It says "Cannot send to nick/channel". Both from webchat and the client that I use.

The channel mode was set to "voiced" people only, I changed it, it should work now

Would suggest a room.on matrix.org where you can also bridge irc, Gitter and other big networks. I am suggesting matrix cause I know there are people using RSS-bridge along with RSS bots to get news on their rooms.check it out https://matrix.org/

Well I don't think there is a room for this, but one can freely create one. RSS bridge is used in several rooms though, by rss bots like this one https://github.com/maubot/rss
