To be eligible for a Carbon Hack 24 prize you must submit your project for judging. This year we are asking teams to take 3 simple steps:

  1. Prepare a video submission
  2. Update your project's GitHub issue
  3. Complete a form on the Carbon Hack website

Before you do that though, please:

Watch the following video for additional guidance:

1. Prepare a video submission

We are asking teams to prepare a short video demoing their hack project. We want to see what teams have built, not just a presentation.

  • Videos should be no more than 3 minutes long
  • Show us what you have actually built - We want to see a demo not a presentation
  • Use our video presentation template at the start of your video
    • Add your name to the title
    • Choose the appropriate prize category slide
  • Upload to YouTube
  • Add the link to your content below

2. Update your GitHub issue

The bulk of your submission's content should be added to your project hackathon issue, this is where our judges will look when they are reviewing the projects.

The project lead needs to update the Description field on your existing project issue and add the following sections:

Section Guidance Word limit
Summary A brief overview of your project 100
Problems Describe the problems the solution addresses 200
Application Describe what the solution actually does 200
Prize category Specify which prize category you are entering -

For further guidance review our example project issue.

3. Submit on the Carbon Hack website

The final step is to complete the submission form on the Carbon Hack website:

hack.greensoftware.foundation/solution

ALL team members must complete the form before the deadline; if you have not submitted the form, you will not be listed as a team member of this project.

You will receive email confirmation of your submission within 1 business day.
