How do I remove links in search suggestions?

I cannot find the location to disable links when searching, neither in floating search bar or address bar settings. How does one remove these links from the search suggestions?

I found a temporary solution-- I hope the devs allow more user choice in the future and allow us to turn of this annoying setting for this otherwise great browser. Go to About:config and switch "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.system.topsites" and "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.system.topstories" to false for both.

Disabling browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.system.topsites breaks the URL bar Always floating behavior.

For me it's a compromise I do not notice, and I'm sure there are others who feel the same. Until there is a fix or proper workaround for this setting I'll say I'm content.

1. Enable the following preferences:

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites : true
browser.newtabpage.enabled                        : true

2. Go to about:newtab, then you can dismiss all the shortcuts.
   Note: If you don't disable the locked Shortcuts option, there will be new sites populated to shortcuts eventually over time.

The settings for the search suggestions and address bar is controlled here about:preferences#search, trying disabling them all if you don't want to see browsing history, bookmarks, clipboard, open tabs, search engines, search suggestions and recent searches in the URL address bar view.

You could also disable the locked Shortcuts option by disabling the following preference: browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.system.topsites.

Note: Disabling this preference results in the same outcome as disabling the actual Shortcuts from search settings, where both will hide the URL bar view (dropdown suggestions) when the address bar focused.
