Show variables in pause

I often want to know the values of the variables before I do a pause.

When I do ray($var)->pause();

I am not shown the value of $var, but the continue button, you have to type "ray()" 2 times i.e.

ray($var); 
ray()->pause();

ps. or maybe it should work and there is a bug?
