Hey GitHub Team,

Uploading Markdown files is absolutely essential for devs and technical teams.
Right now, we can upload images, but we can’t upload .md files in Copilot Chat or similar tools.
Seriously, Markdown is the backbone of technical documentation, code review notes, meeting minutes, and more.
Why can I upload a picture of my cat, but not the actual docs my team needs to share?
If this is a “security” thing, it’s frustrating—just let us upload .md files like everyone expects!

Please add Markdown file upload support ASAP!

Totally get your frustration, @ourworldcn!
Markdown is literally the format for dev docs and collaboration! It makes zero sense that images can be uploaded but not .md files in Copilot Chat or similar tools.

This is a solid feature request. Hopefully GitHub sees the value and adds .md upload support soon, especially since it’s crucial for workflows like code reviews, design docs, and meeting notes.

In the meantime, are you using any workarounds? Like pasting Markdown content directly or linking to the repo file? Would love to hear how you’re managing it currently!
