We don't support Wayland yet officially. If your desktop environment moves to Wayland-only you can only use it with xrdp if there's a suitable VNC interface for it. We're developing a Wayland-compatible solution, but initially we're focussing on wlroots-compatible compositors. The long-term thread on this is #2637. |

Basically the xrdp is Gone for Gnome :D
if you are on a rolling distro, and rely on xrdp, you may actually hold on updates.
As of now, Arch upstream is apparently gone, on Manjaro (i use it instead of actual arch) the updates are in the testing phase.
In short X sessions on Gnome49 no longer work on arch-based distros. If you are on stable and not updated to gnome49, you are good for now (e.g. manjaro stable). The X sessions dont work not just with xrdp, (xrpd logs show SIGTRAP for window manager, basically it crashes as soon as started, you can see login screen etc, but xrdp disconnects after login).
You cannot even login on gnome login screen with X session anymore (like on hyperv console or physical machine)
