Java 8 Windows on ARM #655

Hi @huntindeed 👋 Thanks for bringing this up — I agree that having a native Java 8 build for Windows on ARM would be incredibly helpful, especially for legacy systems and many existing enterprise or embedded applications that still rely on Java 8. Given the collaboration with Qualcomm and growing ARM adoption, a native Java 8 build could really improve performance and compatibility on devices like Windows ARM laptops or dev boards. ✅ It would: Enable native execution without emulation overhead Support legacy applications without migrating to newer Java versions Open up more possibilities for performance-critical use cases on ARM If this is not already planned, maybe it could be considered as a community-supported build, or at least as a one-time release for long-term support users? Thanks again, and fingers crossed we see something in this direction! |

Hey, folks! Unfortunately, releasing a Java 8 build for Windows on ARM is not a strategic priority for Microsoft (we actually don't release Java 8 versions ourselves for any platform - we recommend Adoptium for Java 8). |

@brianjstafford Unfortunately, Adoptium doesn’t have an exclusive deal with Qualcomm, so they care even less about aarch64 Java 8 release |

Could you please release Java 8 for ARM as well? You collaborate with Qualcomm, but there is no support for the most widely used Java version anywhere. Releasing this version would help support many projects natively
