Volume vs Birdweather site

Hey folks, maybe you can help me with this. I noticed that when I playback the recording on my local machine (birdnetpi.local) the recording can hardly be heard unless I put my volume up to the max.

However, I recently hooked my setup to the Birdweather app so it also shared online. When I visit my station on there the uploaded are recordings are perfect - I can hear them really clearly even at half the volume.

Is there any reason why there's such a difference? do they add additional gain or something?

@ideabake -- we normalize the audio as the PUC soundscapes are uploaded with no gain (and in FLAC format) to conserve space.
