You can call Value().

However, pgtype.Numeric is not something you would normally use. It does the minimal necessary to move values to and from PostgreSQL.

If you want numeric / decimal values you can actually do anything with in Go then you should use github.com/shopspring/decimal.

If you want a string, then you can scan directly into a string.

i am using sqlc, returning data type is pgtype.Numeric, i need to convert it to string for generating json response. as a string, eg "6.50"

I haven't used sqlc, but I'm pretty sure you can configure it to use shopspring.decimal. But even without that, as mentioned above, calling Value() on a pgtype.Numeric will yield a string.
