Updating iOS native dependencies with pod install - failed!

Hi. I am very new to ionic and capacitor and iOS development. Any help would be highly appreciated!
When I run npx cap run ios, I get this stack trace:

How did you install CocoaPods?
We recommend using homebrew to install it because installing it manually usually gets issues like this one.

I installed pods like this brew install cocoapods. But, here is where things are now, [error] native-run failed with error when I ran npx cap run ios:

looks like there are no iOS simulators installed or they are not accessible through the CLI, have you opened Xcode at least one and installed iOS simulators? Xcode stopped including them by default some time ago to make install size smaller.
