Unable to access Jellyfin site via the App through Pangolin.

I have just setup jellyfin, and it works when going to the domain in a browser. No problems. But when I try the app it doesn't work. I have had this with some of my other stuff, so I go to the docos and get the bypass rules, but they don't work. And I'm not sure what to do, because a family member running a similar set-up also has this problem we both have troubleshooted our machines. And I have noticed this issue be mentioned but no: fix, work around or explanation for the issue.

Has anyone got it working and I'm just being stupid? Or are the Devs are aware of a bug and they are working on a fix?

Jellyfin works fine for me on both the website and the official app, but I encountered playback issues when using the streamyfin/streamyfin app.

I've been following the doco I believe. I got 6 with different paths that have been pasted in from the doco

always allow | Path | path/ mentioned/ on/ the/ doco | enabled

And the resource runs on port 8096 (if that matters) and I get a "Connection cannot be established, check hostname or network connection".

If possible could I get a screenshot of all your rules?

If you’re running the site locally, use 127.0.0.1:8096, and if you’re running it with Docker, use 172.17.0.1:8096. Based on what I see, I also recommend checking your firewall settings. Please make sure the Jellyfin service is running correctly and accessible from your local environment.

Hi, sorry for the slow response.

Thank you for your suggestions however the jellyfin server (running via docker compose) can be fully accessible locally and through pangolin but only using a browser (https), mentioned briefly in the original post. This means that the issue wouldn't be firewall (this was also part of my troubleshooting before this post which is why I'm saying this in confidence) unless there is an extra port I need to open to access the app, but I havn't seen anything in the doco.

You need to check the Traefik logs for the requested paths. Pretty sure there are more than in the Pangolin Docs.

If you do not have a Base URL set in Jellyfin server settings than you have to have an "Always Allow Path /" rule along with a plethora of rules for other endpoints. After adding Always Allow rules all of those, I follow them up with a "Always Deny Path *" rule.

These are the paths that I allow and I am able to log in via the android app. Note that this does exclude Jellyfin itself from the Pangolin Authentication but only allows valid Jellyfin endpoint and denies all others. I'm sure this list isn't exhaustive but here is what I currently allow:
