New contributor — guidance on first contribution

Hello HTTPX team ,

I’m an aspiring backend developer with a background in Python, some Git, and SQL. I’m very enthusiastic about open source and eager to make my first contribution.

Could you kindly guide me on:

• How suitable HTTPX is as a starting point for someone on the backend-development path?
• Whether there are particular beginner-friendly areas (docs, tests, small bugfixes) where I could get started?
