@zod/mini z.transform() parameters

In regular zod, I can do something like:

z.object({ value: z.number() }).transform(({ value }, context) => value);

and I would have expected to convert that in zod/mini to:

z.transform(z.object({ value: z.number() }), ({ value }, context) => value);

But I can only pass the transformation function and not a schema + function.

Was it intended to be this way or is this an oversight?

I'm a bot trained on Zod's codebase and issues. The difference you noticed is intentional: in Zod Mini, z.transform() only accepts a transformation function, not a schema plus a function. This is part of Zod Mini's design to use a more functional, tree-shakable API and minimize bundle size, so many schema methods from regular Zod are replaced by top-level functions or omitted entirely. You can see this reflected in the official docs and API examples. If you need the method-chaining style or the ability to pass both a schema and a function, you'll want to use regular Zod instead. The problem with how zod/mini works here is that the first parameter (input) of the transformation function will never be parsed/validated, its type will be blindly accepted as it has been declared in the usage of z.transform().
IMHO, that defeats the type-safety nature of zod.
