Best Support Settings in OrcaSlicer: Default vs Organic? #10609

For me personally, the organic supports are better - they save material and time. They should be also easier to remove, because of precise contact layers. The default supports work too and they should be easier for the PC to compute, but in some cases (little holes with overhangs or organic models) they are harder to remove if not using soluble materials for them and they can a little damage the model. I also have tested other types of tree supports, but they don't have as good contact layer as organic, but they work well. My recommendation: Use organic and when printing with adaptive layer height (they don't support it yet), use tree slim. As 3rd place I recommend tree strong (only when tree slim don't work correctly), then default and then tree hybrid (in my testing, the tree hybrid supports have the worst quality of the contact layer). I hope it will help! |

Has anyone noticed differences in print quality when switching between OrcaSlicer’s default support settings and the organic supports option? I’m trying to balance strength and surface finish on detailed models, but I’m not sure which route gives the most reliable results over time. What’s been your experience?
