In our organisation we use claude code with custom OpenAI-compatible Litellm wrapper api behind a federated gateway. Claude code itself can be configured to work with such model gateways through configurating the ~/.claude/settings.json file. However, when trying to configure Claude code as the provider in Roo Code, the model names are prepopulated and are fixed/limited to the default anthropic models. Is it possible to change the checkbox / text box for model name to support free form typing?
With other providers, the list of available models can usually be found by asking the model provider. For instance, in LM Studio, we can prepopulate the list of available models and Roo code does that. But Claude code is oblivious to the model names configurations need to be done manually in the settings.json file if it's not one of the default models. Hence, a free/user-entered value for model name makes sense.
I hope I was clear in explaining the ask. This will open usage of Roo code (which some of us really love) for our organisation, so I hope this feature can be implemented in Roo Code with minimal code changes.
Thank you in advance, and please let me know if more information is required or I haven't been clear.
cheers
