Ultimately Innovative and Competitive, but a little difficult task: As Many Graphic Software, could you make All Objects like floating pallet? #495

Sorry, I forgot to place the simple explanations about the SDI and MDI interface types: As written in the following parts, these two types are historically competing between usability vs. and just small resource reduction. As you know, Microsoft is so much sensitive about the actual usability and importance, to make them Microsoft's great advantage, So, they promptly switched back to SDI, because the usability of SDI is much better than MDI. Nowadays, the "Tab" function is always applauded in any type of application software, but, theoretically, tabs are just for small screens. However, the tab adds a small portion of the functions, on the other hand, the usability is not enhanced nor decreased. For example, when you get the diff, compare two codes, documents, web pages and so on, finally, you must open and allocate in parallel two or more windows / areas, placing them in parallel which can be seen at the same time. Like these relationships above, the floating/movable parts and SDI in the browsers were told "bye and R.I.P." as a very, very strong chain of restriction by the people who made the 1st generation browsers, Marc, Eric and others including me. And I and former co-workers are still feeling responsible for this matter, |

Hello,
I saw several graphics editing software and other software which parts in their windows can move as Floating Palets.
I also consider that the structure of the menu part is already layered.
I have never found such an innovative structure.
For example, we can move the left bar and the right bar, not only inside the window of the browser but outside of the window. Simply saying, the most current browsers' deploy the MDI-type window structure and we can split only windows.
This is a really historical cause of the computing power of the devices at that moment because the SDI-type window structure needs just more resources of devices
So, when we started to hack Mosaic, the machine power was not enough for SDI at that time. Because the first browser was MDI, the browsers still work as MDI. I wonder the
But now, even if small granularities of SDI just use a small portion of the computing power, the innovative usability is more important than the small speed advantage.
Because we are READING, SEEING and stopping the manipulation, so only use the computing power, the SDI structure such as the floating rendered content, tab, bar, menu, note, etc. already gets reality.
IMO, NCSA Mosaic (former IE) and Netscape defined the style of any browsers. And it was actually a sin which made slow-down of advance the browsers. I.E. Marc Andreessen at first in NCSA, Jim Clark who invited Marc to Netscape defined the many rules of browsers and also the people who worked for I8n of NCSA MOSAIC.
Anyway, any parts are hoped to move as floating pallets anywhere on the display.
Best,
away
